The dragonfly also is also know as the "Isleta Cross," a pueblo south of Albuquerque, NM. The design is very old and can be found in petroglyphs throughout the Southwest. The artist, Vincent Joe Platero, Sr. Currently a resident of Tohajiilee, New Mexico, He learned his craft from his mother, Helen Chavez. His unique style has also won awards at New Mexico Fairs and Indian Markets.
